Sasakwa Vikings Riding High on a 13 Game Winning Streak
The Sasakwa Vikings took on the Mill Creek Bullfrogs at home Thursday and continued their winning streak with a big win.
The Wapanucka Basketball Tournament scheduled for last weekend was canceled so the two teams scheduled a game between the two. Both teams were scheduled to play in the tournament.
The Bullfrogs entered the game on a 4-game winning streak but that ended with a 65-48 defeat by the Vikings.
The Sasakwa Lady Vikings started the evening off and took control of the game early.
Sasakwa dominated the game and won with a final score of 48-26. The Lady Vikings have a record of 9-6 on the season.
The Viking boys were next to take the court.
The Bullfrogs were on fire and came out and went on a 21-13 run in the first to take the lead.
The defense of the Vikings fired back in the second and held the Bullfrogs to 11 points scored in the second frame as the offense scored 18 points with Josh Jones scoring 9 points in the quarter to help the Vikings close the gap by one at the break.
Sasakwa continued with their momentum in the third and took the lead as they held the Bullfrogs to just seven points scored in the quarter.
Mill Creek was down by eight heading into the final quarter. The Vikings never let off the gas and extended their lead by going on an 18-7 run in the fourth.
The Vikings keep their winning streak alive with another win as Sasakwa won 65-48.
Leading for Sasakwa was Josh Jones with 18 points, two three-point shots and was ten of twelve from the free throw line.
Fayv Mack had 10 points, one trey and was five of six from the line.
Next up for Sasakwa is a home game on the 30th against Weleetka.
The game is set to start at 6 p.m. with the Lady Vikings starting the evening off followed by the Viking boys.
