Sasakwa Vikings Post Shutout on Homecoming Night
The Sasakwa Vikings hosted the in-county Bowlegs Bison Friday night for their Homecoming Night. The game was also Military Night as both teams wore representative uniforms.
The Vikings selected Kay Kay Wheeler for their Homecoming Queen and Sherman Mitchell Jr. for their Homecoming King. The Vikings jumped out to an early lead in the first with a touchdown and a two-point conversion in three plays. The Bison fought hard but could not find the endzone in the first.
The Vikings added to the lead with another touchdown and a 2-point conversion.
The Bison defense stepped up their game plan and held the Viking scoreless in the second quarter, but the Viking defense did just the same as neither team scored in the quarter.
The Sasakwa Vikings went back to work on offense in the third quarter. Sasakwa scored a 25-yard rushing touchdown with a 2-point conversion to go up 24-0 at the top of the quarter. The Bowlegs Bison struggled again on offense and was held scoreless.
Sasakwa scored two more touchdowns with the 2-point conversions good to go up 40-0.
The Vikings put the finishing touches on the game with one more touchdown, but their 2-point conversion failed. The Bison had seen enough, and the game was over after the third quarter.
Sasakwa won the game 46-0 for their first shutout victory of the season.
