THUNDER PRESS RELEASE – Sunday, Oklahoma City Thunder players Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren and Ajay Mitchell helped spread holiday joy and cheer with three separate events for Oklahoma kids and families.

The Oklahoma City Thunder, in partnership with Homeland, provided the Pointer family with a holiday shopping spree. As a special surprise, Thunder player Jalen Williams arrived to help the family shop and fill their carts with groceries. After checkout, the Pointer’s received an additional $500 Homeland gift card for a future visit.

Chet Holmgren and his family spent the afternoon visiting military families at Tinker Air Force Base. “Santa Chet” delivered food, brought gifts, including toys and autographed jerseys, and lots of holiday spirit to more than 350 guests.

Ajay Mitchell hosted a holiday basketball clinic for young athletes from Special Olympics Oklahoma. Mitchell helped lead the kids in basketball warmups, drills and scrimmages. Each kid received Thunder goodies to take home.

These events are part of the Oklahoma City Thunder’s 18th season of Holiday Assist, which consists of more than three dozen events throughout the holidays to brighten the spirits of hundreds of Oklahomans.
