Posted in:

The Oklahoma Coaches Association (OCA) has held their state games this past week. The OK State Tennis matches were held at the Mike Case Center in Tulsa Tuesday, the OK State Basketball boys’ game was held at the Tulsa Memorial High School Wednesday night, and the OK State Football game was held at the OBU Bison football stadium in Shawnee Thursday night.

Seminole Chieftain Easton Atyia competed in the boys State Tennis single matches Tuesday in Tulsa. Easton Atyia represented Seminole Schools at the OCA All-State Tennis Games.

Easton Atyia of Seminole teamed up with Tuker Dennis of Byng and they dropped an 8-3 decision to Westmoore’s Evan Boyer and Matthew Dellesso of Bishop McGuinness.

As one of just 4 All-Staters from Class 4A, Easton capped off a stellar career as a 3x state qualifier—with a 5th place finish at #2 singles and 7th at #1 singles. The first Seminole All-Stater since 2015, Easton’s headed to OBU this fall.

Varnum Whippet, C.J. Bernard was selected for the All-State Basketball game in Tulsa Wednesday. Bernard was not able to compete due to a procedure done on his knee.

Bernard was selected to play for the small east team.

The small west team won 107-93 over east.

Seminole Chieftain Dontre Garfield was selected for the All-State football game played in Shawnee at the OBU Bison Stadium. Garfield was not present for the game Thursday night due to his commitment to his new football team at Pittsburg State University.

Garfield was selected to play for the East Team Thursday. The West Team won the match with a final score of 30-18.
