NBA Star Josh Giddy Breaks Michael Jordan’s Record

THE US SUN - Chicago Bulls guard Josh Giddey is being praised after breaking a legendary Michael Jordan record.

The 23-year-old from Australia starred as the Bulls claimed a 113-111 win against the Philadelphia 76ers yesterday.

Giddey recorded his second-consecutive triple double against the 76ers.

He registered 15 rebounds and 12 assists during the game.

The Australian also scored a team-high or 29 points.

Josh Giddey played with the Oklahoma City Thunder for three seasons, from 2021 to 2024, before being traded to the Chicago Bulls. He was drafted by the Thunder in 2021 and played his first three NBA seasons with the team before the trade in June 2024.

Giddey’s contribution helped claw the Bulls to win against the 76ers from 23 points down.

This comes after his triple double during their loss to the New York Knicks last Sunday.

He has become the first Bulls player to manage such a feat since Jordan, now 62, did so during the 1988-89 season.

It also sees Giddey pass Scottie Pippen, 60, for the second-most 20-point triple doubles in franchise history.

Unfortunately for Bulls fans, Jordan and Pippen are yet to resolve their ongoing feud.

This performance has seen fans rave about the international superstar.

“This is THE MAN you build your franchise around. This is him,” one fan posted on X.

“Just All Star? Its time to talk awards,” another said.

It has been a strong start to the 2025-26 season for the Bulls.

They suffered their first defeat of the new campaign against the Knicks last Sunday.

This ended a streak of five straight wins for the franchise.

Fans are already claiming that Giddey has a chance to be crowned as the NBA‘s best player this season.

“Start the MVP conversations,” a third fan commented.

“MVP talk isn’t early, it’s overdue,” a fourth posted.

Giddey has played each of the Bulls first seven games of the new campaign.

The Bulls currently lead the Central Division.

They will travel to face the Cleveland Cavaliers today at 7 p.m. and will be back at home on Monday to face the San Antonio Spurs.
