Maud Tigers Win Annual 59 Bowl on Homecoming Night

The Maud Tigers took on the Bowlegs Bison in their Annual 59 Bowl game Friday night and also celebrated their homecoming.

Maud Tigers selected Kylee Collins as their homecoming queen and Josh Andes as their homecoming king.

In the first quarter, it was a tough battle on both sides.

The Maud Tigers took the lead when wide receiver Koi Street caught a touchdown pass to put the Tigers on the board first.

Bowlegs struggled on offense but continued to fight through. The Bison were only down by 6 at the end of the first quarter. Maud took control of the second quarter with tight-end Jonathan Lamas scoring on a rushing touchdown to start the quarter. The two-point conversion failed.

The Tigers had found their rhythm and applied the pressure on offense. The Bison defense had a hard time controlling number seven Koi Street.

Maud Tiger Koi Street scored the next two touchdowns before the half.

The Bowlegs Bison found themselves in a 26-0-hole heading into the third quarter but continued to battle on, never giving up.

The Tigers scored two more times in the third to go up 38-0. The Bison team pressed on to the fourth quarter.

The determination paid off when Bison Hunter Hamilton scored a touchdown for Bowlegs. The two-point conversion was good.

Before the end of regulation, Jonathan Lamas sealed the victory for the Tigers with another touchdown.

Bowlegs could not convert anything with the time remaining and the Tigers ran the clock out on their next offensive drive.

The Maud Tigers won the Annual 59 Bowl game 44-8 and brought the trophy back to Tiger Country.

Next up for Bowlegs is a home game against Fox on the 16th (Thursday). The game is set to start at 7 p.m.

Next up for the Maud Tigers is an away game at Midway on the 16th of October.

The next home game for the Tigers is on the 24th against Maysville.
