Bowlegs Fall in Season Opener

The Bowlegs Bison Football Program started off their season this past Friday night hosting the Olive Wildcats. Bowlegs had a commanding lead throughout the first half, but the Wildcats rallied back and pulled out the win.

The Olive Wildcats lit up the scoreboard first Friday night with a field goal in the first quarter. Bowlegs took the lead with a touchdown to go up 6-3 at the end of the quarter.

Both teams added to their score in the first half of the second with a touchdown from both teams. The Bison extended their lead by six before the half.

The score at the half was 18-9 Bowlegs. The Bison lit up the scoreboard again with another touchdown to go up 24-9 midway through the quarter. The Wildcats fired back with a touchdown and converted the two-point conversion before the end of the quarter.

Olive closed the gap at the top of the fourth with a TD to trail by one-point. The Wildcats regained the lead with another touchdown and field goal. Olive again scored another touchdown to take a two score lead 36-24.

The Bowlegs Bison answered back with a touchdown to close the gap, but time ran out for the Bison.

The Olive Wildcats won the battle 36-30. (no stats were given on the game) The Bowlegs Bison will be on the road this Friday when they take on the Life Christian Eagles on the 12th.

The next home game will be on the 3rd of October when they take on the Graham- Dustin Chieftains. This game will be Homecoming for Bowlegs. Game is set to start at 7 p.m.
