Wash The Mud Off Your Eyes!

…And Then What Happened?
Posted in:

This will probably be the shortest writing I’ve done, but I believe it’s possibly the most important.

We should relate to the story when Jesus put mud on the eyes of the blind man and told him to wash it off to be able to see. What does it take for us to understand fully about what and how to believe the Word of God. I’m only going to refer to one thing today, and that is what it really takes to be saved. For some reason some people believe how they live is what saves them from final destruction. But according to the Bible, that won’t do it. No matter if you tithe, go to church every time the doors open, or how good you act, or how much you can quote the Bible. None of these good things saves you because we can’t save ourselves.

In Ephesians it is written that you are saved by God’s grace (2:5).

Here’s how it is explained in Ephesians, second chapter, first 10 verses: God who is rich in mercy, because of the great love that He has for us, made us alive with the Messiah even though we were dead in sins. You are saved by His grace! Together with Christ Jesus, He also raised us up and seated us in the heavens, so that in the coming ages He might display the immeasurable riches of His grace through His kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is God’s gift—not from works, so that no one can brag or boast. For you are His creation, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time so that we should walk in them (paraphrased).

You choose to do good when you accept Jesus as your “savior” and it causes your heart to want to live like He did, having compassion for others. You can’t help but want to help others. You can’t help but treat animals with kindness. You can’t help but teach your children and others to help make this earth a better place (and take care of your home and property) because you are loaned them for a little time while you’re here on earth. All that you can take to heaven are souls you won to Christ. You can do that by letting your life be the best sermon you could ever preach.

Wash the mud off your eyes, so to speak, to truly see these things.

Have a blessed week. Smile often and bless someone.
