Letter to the Editor
Alana Toilolo, Caden Pierce and Vanessa Duarte Seminole, Okla.
The undersigned students graduated from Seminole High School on May 14, 2024. We did not receive diplomas. We were told there were none, but they would be forthcoming.
On July 22, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. Alana Toilolo and Caden Pierce, SHS 2024 graduates, went to the front office of Seminole High School. We were told by Randi Gower and Marcie Stanfill, Seminole High School employees, that our diplomas were not in and we were told to come back on August 5, 2024 to get our diplomas. On August 5, 2024, Alana Toilolo, Caden Pierce and Vanessa Duarte came back as instructed and asked for our diplomas. We were told by Randi Gower that she did not know when our diplomas would be in. She further said we would have to check Facebook for our diplomas.
We still don’t have our diplomas. To date, we have no documentary evidence in our possession that we graduated from high school.
It is time to enroll in college. High School diplomas are necessary for the college enrollment process. After these requests have been made for our diplomas there has been no meaningful response.
Since the school administration has turned a deaf ear to its students’ needs, we have no remedy but to appeal to the school board to get our earned diplomas. We use this LETTER TO THE EDITOR to make our plea to the school board. Please see that the administration does its job and produce to us our diplomas.
Also, I think an explanation is due to the undersigned, the taxpayers and the general public as to why our public school can’t produce diplomas, or give a sensible explanation as to why.
