Peggy Jo Darr was born to Vernon Jackson and Carmen Ireta Mae (Otto) Bell on July 9, 1947 in Seminole, OK. She went to her heavenly home on December 5, 2023 in Oklahoma City at the age of 76 years.
Peggy made Noble her home for 39 years. She attended school in New Lima, OK. and graduated with the Class of 1965. She the continued her education at East Central University and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Education. While she was in the 7th grade she met Gene Darr, they were united in marriage on June 7, 1969 in Seminole, OK. They were happily married for 54 wonderful years. Peggy and Gene moved to Texas and began their family, they had the most perfect child, Trey. They later decided to move back to Oklahoma to be closer to family in 1984. Peggy taught for 1 year and decided that wasn’t for her, so she began her real estate career in Norman with Century 21, the Dillard Group and Home Creations for 35 years. Peggy was the NBR President in 2003, and served several terms on the Norman Board of Realtors, chaired the Membership Committee for many years. She was awarded REALTOR of the year in 1997, 2003 and 2018, and the Lifetime Achievemant Award in 2007, she held various positions in the NBR for over 20 years. Peggy was always there to give advice or lend a helping hand. She loved being a Nana to her grandsons, family was her #1 priority. Peggy attended all of her grandsons activities and was their biggest fan. She was a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Peggy was a preachers wife who served the Lord and stood by her husbands side.
She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 54 years Gene Darr of the home, son Trey Darr and wife Amanda of Noble, brother Mike Bell and wife Dolores of Grand Lake, Ok, 3 grandsons: Hunter, Graeson and Tucker of Noble, several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and other relatives and friends.
