Governor Proclaims April as ‘Made in Oklahoma’ Month
Governor Kevin Stitt has officially proclaimed April 2026 as “Made in Oklahoma” (MIO) Month, recognizing the vital contributions of Oklahoma’s food industry to the state’s economy and cultural heritage.
The proclamation highlights the Made in Oklahoma Coalition, a partnership of Oklahoma-based food companies dedicated to promoting local products, strengthening brand awareness, and supporting the growth of the state’s food processing sector.
“Oklahoma food manufacturers take great pride in producing safe, high-quality products that serve families across our state and the nation,” said Blayne Arthur, Oklahoma Secretary of Agriculture.
Key highlights of the Made in Oklahoma Coalition’s impact include: ● Economic Contribution: MIO companies contribute over $5.1 billion in annual sales to Oklahoma’s economy.
● Job Creation: The industry supports more than 58,000 jobs for Oklahomans.
● Expanding Markets: Approximately 64% of products produced in Oklahoma are sold in markets beyond the state’s borders, bringing valuable revenue back to Oklahoma.
“April is a wonderful time to celebrate the innovation, dedication, and impact of our local food industry,” added Colt Clark, Made in Oklahoma Coalition President.
The MIO Month proclamation serves as a reminder of the importance of supporting local businesses to ensure a strong and sustainable future for Oklahoma’s agricultural and entrepreneurial sectors.
