Early Voting Begins Today, Ends Friday
Early voting will be available beginning today in the April 7 elections across Seminole County.
Early voting is available Thursday, April 2 and Friday, April 3 from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. at the Seminole County Election Board located at 200 S. Brown in Wewoka.
Elections include a proposed extension of a countywide quarter-cent sales tax to fund emergency services. All registered voters in Seminole County are eligible to vote in that election.
Several school board seats are also up for grabs on April 7. Stephen Choate and Tyler Geohagan are vying for Seat #1 on the Seminole School Board. Candidates for the Strother School Board include Stacy Dunn and Ashley Fowler. John Henson and Jessica Shaw-Hinton will face off for the seat on the New Lima School Board.
Voters in the Maud Public School District will choose between Kurtis Dustman and Jaclyn Porterfield for Office #1 on the school board. They will also decide the fate of a $500,000 bond proposal.
A special election will also take place April 7 in the Town of Lima for the renewal of the town’s franchise agreement with OG&E.
