CVEC Donates to Local Charitable Organizations

The CVECares Committee with Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative announced that it has continued its mission of giving back to the community by donating $2,000 to two local organizations that are making a difference.

United Way of Eastern Country Inc. received a $1,500 donation to help further fund their Ride United Transportation program. This program provides free, on-demand transportation for residents of Shawnee to access essential services. The organization serves Pottawatomie, Seminole, Hughes and South Lincoln Counties.

South Central Industries, a Shawnee-based nonprofit that serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, received $500 to support the expansion and operation of their accessible greenhouse and horticulture training program.

CVECares is a charitable committee within the cooperative made of CVEC employees who are dedicated to identifying and supporting meaningful causes throughout the service area.
