Beyond The Classroom:
On Dec. 6, Seminole Career and Technical Student Organizations with the support of the Seminole High School Student Council hosted their annual festive community event, “Breakfast with Santa.”
The morning was filled with holiday cheer as families gathered to enjoy a free pancake breakfast, a hot chocolate bar, capture special photos with Santa, and participate in fun coloring activities and crafts for the children. The total attendance was approximately 250 patrons.
In the spirit of giving, attendees were encouraged to bring a nonperishable food item as their entry. With this support, 360 food items were collected. All items were donated to the Fletcher Foundation, a local nonprofit organization, helping support families in need during the holiday season.
Thanks to the generosity of local businesses and sponsors (Security State Bank, Shawnee Mills, First United Bank, Seminole Ford, Krista Stapp, with others still planning to send money) all food and activities were provided at no cost to attendees, making the event accessible to families throughout the community. Students added to the joyful atmosphere by dressing up as beloved holiday characters, including gingerbread men, a Christmas tree, and even the Grinch, bringing smiles and laughter to guests of all ages.
“Breakfast with Santa is a meaningful example of student leadership, community partnership, and service in action,” said SHS teacher Trent Hughes. “It is one of many events that highlights the dedication of Seminole FFA, FCCLA, BPA, and Student Council in making a positive impact beyond the classroom.”
