SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 24, 2024 DEAR ABBY: My wife and I are in our 80s, married for 61 years. We are financially well-off and have few medical issues. As we approach our departure from this Earth, we’ve created the necessary legal documents to distribute our assets. So, what’s the problem?

This week, the group Oklahoma United called for abolishing our state’s primary election system and replacing it with a “jungle primary” in which the top two candidates proceed to the November general election ballot regardless of party.

Everybody knows finances are tight today. Now, one can only hope against hope that by the time this column hits your hands, the sentence I just wrote is a lie.

My mother-in-law, Phoeba Gillespie, was a blessing to me most of my married life. She was usually smiling and had an infectious laugh, no matter how she felt. She was a blessing to Pioneer Nursing Home for many years as a dedicated nurse.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 22, 2024 DEAR ABBY: A month ago, my 7-year-old son was struck by a vehicle while riding his bike in a crosswalk. He’s fine now. His injuries were minor, although it was frightening.

DEAR ABBY: I’m a 64-year-old guy. I am single and have two daughters and four grandkids. A young woman (“Sarah”), who is my daughter’s age, and I have been hiking buddies for the past five years. I treat her like my third daughter and a family member.

DEAR ABBY: I’ve been living with someone for four years. When we started living together, his son “Byron” was incarcerated. Byron is 33 and has been in trouble since he was 15. His dad keeps bailing him out. I used two of my credit cards to help raise the $11,000 bail to get him out of jail.

Miller Joy Louise Miller age 79, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2024 at her home in Wewoka, Oklahoma. She was born January 28, 1945 in Cromwell, Oklahoma to Ben Harjo and Edith (Roger) Harjo. She married Lewis Miller in 1965.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 19, 2024 DEAR ABBY: I have been with my girlfriend, “Kim,” for a year and a half. We are both in our 40s and very independent. Her mother struggles with our relationship because we are two women. She has told Kim our relationship is an embarrassment for her.

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 2024 DEAR ABBY: I helped a friend by giving her rides to and from work for two weeks while her car was being repaired. When she got her car back, she told me to let her know if she could ever repay the favor by helping me.
