A group of area educational leaders from has formed a coalition aimed at strengthening workforce development and creating educational pathways from high school through college.
Seminole Mayor Jeff Griffin, a storm spotter himself, has proclaimed March as “Storm Spotter Month.” The proclamation was read Tuesday evening at the Seminole City Council meeting. Seminole’s storm spotter team was also recognized at the meeting.
The Konawa Community Banquet was this past Friday night and was a tremendous success. Community members joined together for a great meal prepared by the JOM volunteers and Leander Yellowfish.

Seminole County is under a “red flag” warning today as conditions are prime for fire outbreaks across Oklahoma.
The warning, which includes over 50 counties, was issued yesterday at 11:38 a.m. by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Norman.
Customers of Oklahoma Gas and Electric (OG&E), which holds the franchise for electrical services in Seminole, will see their bills go up beginning next month.
In November, the Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC) approved an interim order that granted OG&E a nearly $127 million rate hike.
Education policies that passed the Oklahoma House on Tuesday would remove chronic absenteeism from school evaluations and permit scores from a lesser-known college entrance exam to qualify for state-funded scholarships.
Both measures now advance to the state Senate for consideration. Sen.
