Jeff Hamilton Davis, 83, lifelong resident of the Little Community, in Seminole County passed from this life on Friday, April 5, 2024 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Jeff was born on March 20, 1941 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Etta Lorraine (Phillipi) Davis and Mont Hamilton Davis. Jeff grew up at Little, North of Seminole, Oklahoma. He attended and graduated from Prairie Valley High School, west of the Little Community in 1958. Jeff later attended Seminole Junior College and Oklahoma State University.

Jeff was a lifelong farmer and rancher, and a lifelong member of the Church of Christ at Little. He was an avid ham radio operator, and his ham radio call sign was K5VHU. He was a boy scout and achieved the status of Eagle Scout. Jeff loved to find good out of the way local restaurants in different towns, trying their food and enjoyed telling others about them. Jeff loved cooking, baking and making candy for people and surprise them with his recipes. Jeff was always known for just being a “Big Kid” all his life, which he enjoyed. Jeff was a very prominent member of the Little Community and had carried the Davis family name on for many years with pride.

Jeff married Mary Elizabeth (Nutter) Davis on April 3, 1969 at the First Baptist Church in Seminole, Oklahoma. Beth preceded him in death on July 21, 2009, after 40 years of marriage.

Jeff is survived by his two sons, Jesse Davis of Seminole, Oklahoma and Owen Davis of Shawnee, Oklahoma, one grandchild Kenzie Davis and an adopted brother Robert Davis of Seminole, Oklahoma, his nieces; Donna Hardin, Marsha Guymon, Tracy Noerper, Linda Dowell, Ann Swartz and Carol Groothuis, and many nieces and nephews and other family members from the Nutter Family.

Jeff was preceded in death by his mother and father; Lorraine and Mont Davis, his wife Beth and his sisters; Kay Hinson, Frances Warrenburg and Irene Lawrence Funeral services for Jeff will be on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at 10:30 A.M., Services will be held at the Church of Christ at Little, with J. Carl Guymon officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery in Northern Seminole County.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
